Last month, on Saturday 1st February, we had our first MC meeting of 2014. These meetings are vital to keep track of what we are, and will be doing on a regular basis, and they form an essential part of being a trustee for Verity. This first meeting was exciting and positive for us as we met our newest volunteers. Their enthusiasm for helping us keep things running is essential to maintain the vibrancy of the charity as we move forward.
Our main focus was on fundraising. Last year we were kept going and were boosted by the ladies at Armpits4August, and we’re looking forward to this years campaign. However there’s still a long way to go in raising awareness of PCOS and funds that will help support all of us in dealing with it long term. We had some great ideas raised at the meeting and we’ll keep you all posted on their developments as there’ll definitely be some participation needed down the line! We know that a few of you are already using lent as a way of raising money for us, so thank you in advance!
Our long term goal with the fundraising this year is to refresh the booklets that we send out to you and add some new ones to the pack.
So 2014 is looking to be an exciting and busy year already. With the help of our new very enthusiastic volunteers, one of whom is looking after the blog (hello!), we’re sure this will be a successful year for us.
Keep an eye out for regular posts here and please do get in touch if you’d like to share you’re story or get involved on the volunteering side of things.
