Research Callout: PCOS diagnosis and impact on activity

My name is Nisma. I’m currently studying for a Masters in Health Psychology at Coventry University. For my dissertation I am doing a research study to see how being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) might affect women’s plans and activities around exercise.

For this I study would like to recruit volunteers to fill out two online questionnaires: An Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ) and an Exercise Intention Questionnaire. The questionnaires should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. This study is subject to approval by Coventry University Ethics and all answers from the study will be kept strictly confidential.
The planned or desired outcomes are by addressing and identifying the illness perception held by women with polycystic ovarian syndrome it can lead to a better understanding of the beliefs and intentions women with polycystic ovarian syndrome have in taking part in physical activity. This will then overall contribute to understanding of the management of polycystic ovarian syndrome and can lead to implementations for actions needed to take place to increase exercise intake for women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

If you have PCOS and are interested, please click on the link below. This will take you to the Participant Information Sheet for the study. Please read it carefully before deciding if you want to complete the questionnaires.

I would very much appreciate it, if you could take some out to fill out my questionnaires.
Thank you very much.
