The below blog post has been written by the research team, and details of how to participate in the research can be found at the bottom of this post. Verity have sighted the ethics approval granted for the recruitment of this study.
Can you help us with our research about the uncertainty that people can experience during fertility treatment and fertility problems? People going through fertility treatment (e.g. IVF, IUI) or fertility problems (e.g. PCOS, Endometriosis) navigate lots of unknowns throughout their fertility journeys, but little is known about their experiences of uncertainty. This research aims to improve our understanding of the uncertainty people can experience during fertility issues. We hope that this research will help us to understand more about how people can be better supported to manage the uncertainty that can come with these issues (for example, how psychological support could be improved for those going through fertility issues to reduce the distress that this uncertainty can cause).
You can take part if you are a woman or person with a uterus, are over 18 years old, are comfortable reading in English and have either of the following: 1) previous or current experience of going through fertility treatment in the hope of becoming pregnant yourself or 2) previous or current experience of fertility problems with concerns about your own ability to become pregnant. It does not matter what stage of treatment or investigations you reached or are currently at.
The research involves completing an anonymous online survey that takes around 20 minutes. You can find out more or complete the survey by following this link: https://nclpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_50yjHRzabEKA9o2
