Just last month Verity’s Dorset group leader, Karen Figgitt, arranged a sponsored hair cut and bake sale. Her aim was to raise £100 for Verity and to raise awareness of PCOS. Not only did she smash that target raising an amazing £430.82 she was also interviewed for her local paper, Dorset Echo, only a few weeks since her appearance on local radio.
Karen’s hair dresser, Paula, agreed to cut peoples hair for 6 hours non-stop in return for sponsorship money, and they were able to much lovely treats at the same time. In total Paula cut 24 men’s and children’s hair in the 6 hour timeslot with 2 girls, 10 and 14 months old, who had their very first hair cuts.

All in all it was a major success and it shows just what you can do when you put your mind to it. It’s the little things that count and we want to say a massive thanks to Karen, Paula and the people of Weymouth for their time and generosity.
