The below blog post has been written by the research team, and details of how to participate in the research can be found at the bottom of this post. Verity have sighted the ethics approval granted for the recruitment of this study. Please note that the condition previously known as PCOS is now referred to as PMOS; some researchers and clinicians may still use the term PCOS during this transition period.
Help Shape the Future of PCOS Pathways and Digital Care: Take Part in a Digital Usage Survey
Introduction
We are conducting a new research study exploring how people with PCOS use digital tools to manage their symptoms, track their health, and access support. This research is important for improving the design and effectiveness of future PCOS digital health resources. We are looking for people diagnosed with PCOS to share their experiences and help strengthen understanding across the community.
About the Study
This study aims to better understand how individuals with PCOS engage with health apps, online platforms, and digital self-management tools in their everyday lives. By analysing patterns of use, preferences, and challenges, the research hopes to identify ways that digital support can be improved. The study is being conducted by Hilary Wray at Coventry University as part of her PhD and has received ethical approval from the University, ensuring all participant information is handled safely and responsibly.
What’s Involved?
- Complete an online survey about your experiences using digital tools for PCOS management
- Takes approximately 15-30 minutes to complete
- The survey is fully online and can be completed on any device. It can be completed with predictive text (audio) and is mobile platform friendly.
Who Can Take Part?
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- Have a clinical diagnosis of PCOS
- Located in the UK
- Use or have used any digital tools/apps/online resources/wearables related to health, wellbeing, or PCOS management

About the Researcher
This study, led by Hilary Wray, a Midlands 4 Cities PhD student at Coventry University, focused on improving digital health experiences for people with PCOS. As someone living with PCOS herself, Hilary’s own experiences navigating care strongly shaped her motivation to undertake this PhD. Her work explores how technology could support personalised, accessible, and user‑centred care for those navigating chronic health conditions. She is passionate about amplifying PCOS voices in research and digital tool development.
